I trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist because I believe in our potential as human beings. It is such a privilege to work with people to help them discover and develop that potential.
The wounds of the past can keep us caught in destructive patterns in the present, leading to depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and other problems. Inside each of us, though, is great potential which increasingly shines forth as we begin to resolve these inner conflicts.
I trained originally in the psychosynthesis approach, an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy, drawing on a rich variety of theories and techniques from the various schools of psychology. In line with my commitment to offer the best service to you, I continue to undergo training and study to keep up to date with the very latest thinking. These days, my work is most influenced by my study of Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT), an umbrella term for various evidence-based therapeutic approaches that aim to accelerate the process of therapy, effecting deep and lasting change. To that end, I have studied for two years with Dr Ferruccio Osimo in his IE-DP (Intensive Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) model of EDT, and also completed a core training with Kristin Osborn in Leigh McCullough’s APT (Affect Phobia Therapy) model of EDT. I have completed three years of core training with Dr Patricia Coughlin in the original EDT model, ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.)
I will take an active and engaged attitude to our work, in partnership with you, as we explore the underlying causes of your difficulties, and seek to resolve inner conflicts and free your full potential.
I have an MA in Psychotherapy, as well as a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and I have over a decade’s experience, working with a wide range of clients.
I am a UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registered psychotherapist.
I am pleased to offer a confidential and professional counselling and psychotherapy service. My practice is based in a comfortable, welcoming space, and is conveniently located in Central London, close to tube, rail and bus services.
Many people feel anxiety, taking the first step to contact a therapist. I do understand this, but it has been my experience that most people who take that step find the journey of psychotherapy deeply rewarding.
I hope this site will answer lots of your questions, but please don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to know more.
And if you’d like to book an initial session, to explore whether counselling and psychotherapy is for you, I’d be more than happy to hear from you. Just call me on 07971-447 591. Or email: email@example.com
